New work: Home

Home: Silence Has An Echo

This painting shows Lion's Head, which is situated right next to Table Mountain and overlooks Cape Town. The work forms part of my "Home" series, focused on the theme of homecoming, nesting and what 'home' means to me. I started working on this series in an attempt to explore my feelings and fears after we moved to another flat not far from where we used to live in view of Table Mountain.

Jonkershoek uitstappie

After getting new camera lenses for my Pentax K-1000, in Stellenbosch, I drove the extra bit to Jonkershoek to shoot some photographs with a 200 ISO film in the chamber...  Thank you to sculptor and photographer Albertus Maree - dankie!

Contrast

These small artworks were created using scraperboard as medium and technique - a layer of black sits on top of the white backing, and is scratched away to reveal the white. They are available for sale from Studio 46 in Bloubergstrand, Western Cape.
