Bouncing around!

At the rate that I post updates, each blog post is a newsletter...  Things have been busy and I've been bouncing around a bit between towns and locations. After a relaxing and fun visit to my folks in Vanderbijlpark I was in Pretoria for a Bezuidenhout family visit. Currently I'm in Swellendam on a creative breakaway or sojourn, and at the end of the month I'll be traveling to Grahamstown for the National Arts Festival, followed by a much-awaited visit to friend and fellow-artist Helga Mcleod! From about the 18th of July I'll have my feet firmly placed in Cape Town again for the next few months, as I'll be organizing an exhibition as part of the Green Expo at the CTICC in November, and participating in an exhibition at Grande Provence in Franschoek.

And these following screenshots are from my video piece that forms part of SAND(SPOOR] at the Arts Lounge, during the National Arts Festival. My performance is set to be performed on 1, 3 and 5 July at 1pm, and the Arts Lounge is located at 17a Somerset road, Grahamstown. I will also perform a derivative performance and creative workshop VELD(SPOOR] catered to kids, as part of Assitej's family programme at the Festival.

Swellendam Sojourn: day 1

I am in the picturesque Swellendam, along with wacky fellow artist, Danelle Malan, and the beautiful and successful Jennifer Reynolds, owner of www.StateoftheArt.co.za. We arrived in a misty rain yesterday, spent a fun and relaxed evening in front of the fire with a glass of red wine. Today Jennifer and I went for a walk and the following photos were the result of our fast-paced stroll:

The cottage in the last photograph is part of a guesthouse/house currently for sale. If I had the money, I would buy it! Quaint and pretty, with lots of greenery, and with a jealousy-inducing view of the mountain....

Keep an eye on this space for some more photos later this week!
